Bethlehem Lutheran Church
Bethlehem Lutheran Church, located in West Dundee, IL, is a small but growing congregation within the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
Bethlehem first reached out to SDG looking for help optimizing the content on their WordPress site. But as we explored the site together, it became clear that the challenges ran deeper than content alone. Rather than patching up an outdated template, we proposed a smarter path forward—a complete redesign using a modern, drag-and-drop builder that would be more cost-effective and simpler for volunteers to manage.
SDG brought their ministry's message to life one image at a time.
It was clear Bethlehem's original website was missing something important: photos. Without visuals, visitors couldn’t get a true sense of what it was like to attend a Sunday worship service or engage with the church’s ministries. We rebuilt each page with intentional imagery and welcoming, ministry-focused content to give people an authentic glimpse into church life and invite them to take the next step in getting connected.

SDG refocused the website around Bethlehem's most important core values: knowing God, finding belonging, and making a difference.
Bethlehem had six strong core values, but they weren’t clearly communicated through their website. We distilled those values into three clear concepts that became the foundation for the entire site, guiding the site's structure, messaging, and design. This shift moved the focus away from simply sharing church information and toward answering a more personal question: What does this church offer for someone like me? The result is a website that not only reflects Bethlehem’s mission but also invites visitors into a meaningful journey of faith, belonging, and purpose.
